Unreliable surveillance serviceCity-wide surveillance relies largely on reliable operation of the IP cameras and the transmission network. Single point of failure is one of the important issues to be addressed. Even though the transmission network has redundancy protection, long convergence time will introduce severe interruption for the critical surveillance service. Since the surveillance network covers the whole city, the solution deploys a single-core fiber ring network to minimize the investment cost. Together with the wavelength division multiplexing technology, all the video data can be transmitted via one single-core fiber. The deployment offers the best network performance and maximum cost savings.
Single fiber ring network can enhance the system stability. Comparing to the PON (Passive Optical Network), the single fiber ring network totally eliminates single point of failure. It supports fast failover to enable stable and smooth network performance.

Ruijie RG-SNC (Smart Network Commander) is a unified management system designed for real-time performance configuration and alert management. The advanced SNC does not only work with Ruijie equipment, but is also compatible with 3rd party SNMP-capable devices such as mainstream IP cameras and NVR servers. The real-time network topology displays the operation status of all the wireless devices (IP cameras, switches, routers, etc.) in a clear and direct manner. The network administrator can remotely monitor the IP cameras and other devices with ease and be notified in the event of failure for immediate action.
In case of any defined critical events (e.g. device failure, link failure, power supply failure, insufficient bandwidth, video recording failure, etc.), Ruijie SNC with a built-in proactive alert system provides SMS/Voice/Email alerts to operators instantly.

Flexible icon managementProactive Recording Failure DetectionThe solution provides a unique feature of “low threshold” bandwidth monitoring, which can effectively detect the video recording problem introduced by IP camera / NVR server failure and software hang. As illustrated in the figure below, the total baseline bandwidth should be 20M when all four IP cameras are in normal operation (each occupies 5M). In the event of failure when one fails (or hangs), the RG-SNC networ kmanagement system will detect the bandwidth drops below the healthy baseline threshold (i.e. 20M) and will alert the service operator immediately. The solution hence offers superior performance stability.Furthermore, Ruijie SNC provides detailed operation and incident logging record, which are useful for future historical audit trail and troubleshooting purposes.

The deployment comes with high flexibility and simplified installation to satisfy all surveillance needs. 4G mobile surveillance service is growing in demands for various applications such as investigation and driving test. A 4G router can be installed on the vehicle and send realtime surveillance video back to the headquarter. Video network commonly requires bandwidth of 3-8Mbps. The 4G-LTE offers uplink up to 40Mbps, which can fully support transmission of 5-13 HD video channels back to the control center. The 4G mobile router does not require any cabling, insert a SIM card and it is ready for use. Easy and flexible to implement. The 4G router is compact with power consumption of 100V-200V AC.
